Here’s a few more photos of Brad at the Clinton Global Initiative, and a wonderful video! I love listening to him speak, especially when it’s about something he’s passionate about!
Brad Pitt did indeed appear at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City today to discuss all that has been going on with the Make It Right campaign. He talked about the houses that have already been built and the ones that are going to be built. And check this little piece of information out:
The average electric bill for one of the energy-efficient homes built in New Orleans by Brad Pitt’s Make It Right foundation is $35 a month.
Can you imagine?! Only $35 a month?! We’re pretty careful about the energy we use in our house, and we still hit at least $75 a month, and definitely over that in the summer months when we need to run the air conditioner. And apparently it’s even getting cheaper to build the houses as they’re building them, proving to Brad that there’s no reason why we can’t all build homes like those that are being built in New Orleans.
“I don’t know how we build any other way anywhere else,” he said. “We can no longer tell ourselves that implementing this technology is too complex a problem because it’s just been proven on this little spot on the map.”
And not only did Brad update everyone on the homes, he accepted a honor from the US Green Building Council for constructing the largest community of green homes in the world – that’s some honor!
I may not love Brad’s goatee as shaggy as it is, but I definitely love all of the amazing things that he and Angelina do for the world.
We’ve all been hoping for photos of the family – wish granted! Angelina Jolie, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt were just spotted getting some new toys at Toys-R-Us in Toulon, France.
Would you believe that I was actually somewhat surprised that there is a Toys-R-Us in France? I wonder what it’s called – is it called Toys-R-Us like in the US, or is it a different french name? Hmm…good question.
Anyway, I love how the kiddos are dressed! Pax has got the army pants going on, Princess Zee has a loose skirt much like her mom wears, and Shiloh…she’s fabulous! Looks like Shiloh is pretending again, although I don’t think she’s Peter Pan this time. Looks more like she’s a pirate with the vest and sword, doesn’t it? And I think she’s wearing one of daddy’s hats!
So do you guys love the new photos or what?
They’re not photos of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, or the Jolie-Pitt kids, but I think these pics are actually pretty special. They’re photos that are taken in person by a blogger who blogs at Smiles Matter. These photos really showed me how amazing (and large!) the houses that Make It Right are creating, and how they’re getting them done, bit by bit.
Thanks so much for these photos, Charlie! Pop on over to Charlie’s site to see more amazing photos from New Orleans!
When I first saw these pictures of Brad on the red carpet in Spain, my first thought was “wow – can you imagine being a celebrity and having to walk up to a wall of people begging for your attention like this?” Then I realized that not all celebrities have to deal with this level of fan-dom. Brad and Angelina are both so beloved by their fans that it’s actually common to see fans react like this when they are in their presence. And both Brad and Angie are so wonderful that they always take time out to sign a few autographs and to take a few pictures with the fans.
But still, can you imagine how brave you have to be to walk up to a wall of fans like this? At first I started giggling at some of the women in the front who look to be literally begging for his attention.
And then I realized that if I were to be lucky enough to be at a premiere and to see Brad in person? I’d…um…I’d *coughprobablylookthesamecough*.
How about you? How would you react if you were able to be at one of these red carpets?
Never one to miss an opportunity to view some art, Brad took the time to head to the Chillida-Leku Museum in Hernani, Spain today. The museum showcases the work of Spanish sculptor Eduardo Chillida, and Brad was honored to have along with him Chillida’s son, Iganacio Chillida, on his tour.
I’m an amateur photographer, so I’m totally digging Brad’s camera – as well as the actor himself, of course! Although I must say, I think the goatee needs to be trimmed just a little bit. What do you think?
Sorry I’ve been absent a few days guys – I’ve been working on some things, including getting JPN to it’s new home! It should be there by the end of the weekend!
Brad made a lovely appearance at the San Sebastian Film Festival with Quentin Tarantino to present Inglourious Basterds – but from what I’m reading, no presentation is necessary! The world is flipping out over this movie. It has an 88% over at Rotten Tomatoes, which is definitely impressive!
Here are a few shots of Brad arriving, headed to the photo call and his appearance last evening! And you have to check out the shoes – are they too much or what?!
