Looks like Inglourious Basterds did better than most industry experts expected it to do! The movie smashed through the expectations for it, raking in $37.6 M in it’s first weekend! The numbers break down as so:
Friday: $14.35 M
Saturday: $12.9 M
Sunday: $10.3 M
School is back in session for many children – my children don’t start until next Monday (someone send Calgon! Quick! They’re bickering already!) and I’m sure that while some children are in school, many parents might sneak away to see the movie!
My sister-in-law and I both really want to see it, so maybe, just maybe, we’ll sneak away next week when the kids start school!
(BTW, my youngest is starting kindergarten – someone save me!)
Here are a few fun videos of the premiere – enjoy!
Hey Randi, thanks for the video clips. Angie is just so pretty, and Brad, well…enough said.
Pretty cool that IB made good in the box office this weekend. Sadly, I just found out that the movie won’t be showing here in the Phils until end of September, which sucks, but I guess I’ll just have to wait it out. Do a review when you’ve seen it, although a friend of mine, who isn’t a big fan of BP, but is a fan of QT, said it was very good, not the best QT movie, but definitely up there.
I´m so happy to hear that IB is doing well in the States. Read on Sherry´s site that it´s #1 in Germany and I can´t wait until it opens here in Finland next week (September 4). Although I´m not a big fan of either Quentin Tarantino´s movies or war movies in general I´m most definitely gonna go and see this one. Brad alone is good reason to watch this movie.
I love that it’s doing well! I honestly was worried – Tarantino isn’t my favorite director (for a number of reasons) – I’m kind of “whatever” about him, but the story looked like a really good one and I’m ecstatic that the movie is living up to my expectations of it!
go watch it if you haven’t, it’s awesome!!! worth recommending and worth watching!
